Chelsea and Patrick met the old-fashioned way: making eye contact across a bar.

Patrick moved back to Richmond after graduating college and living in Arlington during COVID, a move that ultimately changed everything for both of them.

One night, Chelsea and Patrick both happened to be out separately with friends at Bingo Beer Co. in Richmond. After a little encouragement from friends, the two locked eyes across the bar and instantly connected.

They spent the rest of that night together and were basically never apart again.

Within eight months, they moved into their first home together and continued building a life side by side in Richmond. And let’s not forget to mention Chelsea’s dog, Henry, who quickly became an integral part of their relationship and now may love Patrick even more than Chelsea.

Over the last five years, they’ve built a life full of favorite local restaurants, walks through the city, late nights with friends and family, career growth, new routines, and supporting each other through every stage of life. Richmond became more than just the place they lived, it became the backdrop to so much of their story together.

On September 5, 2025, Patrick proposed at the Church Hill overlook, one of their favorite spots in the city overlooking the Richmond skyline, before celebrating afterward at Bookbinder’s, one of their favorite romantic restaurants.

Now, after four years together, they’re excited to celebrate this next chapter and everything that comes with it. Buying a home, starting a family someday, probably adding another dog to the mix, and continuing to build a life together surrounded by the people they love most.
